The church of St. Mary in Fuleda is a rectangular Romanesque temple with a two-eyed belfry. It consists of a single nave covered with a pointed vault which stands above a simply decorated cornice. This plain rural church without any kind of adornment was strongly influenced by Cistercian art and it should be viewed as an example of the late official 12th century style, when pointed arches were already used in Catalunya's religious architecture. The Cistercian influence is observed in the remains of the old archway and the nave.
